To support the new concept of Custom Blends and match my redesign for Jamba Juice, I created a mobile app. The app includes functionality to order customized smoothies or anything else on their menu. It also gives customers onthe-go the option of ordering ahead to avoid lines. Ordering drinks for the entire office is made easy through the ability to share Favorite Drinks through the app.
Jamba Juice stores are loud - that's the nature of a smoothie shop. Ordering over the noise can be hassle but new, interactive ordering devices allow users to conveniently order their drink of choice. These kiosks are also the key to ordering Custom Blends. Users can upload their Custom Blend from the device to the web to enter a contest to have their drink featured on the Jamba Juice menu. For marketing purposes, it also provides a way to collect customer’s email addresses. I created the design of each screen and also outlined the interactions.
The website redesign strengthens the Jamba Juice brand. It is now more user friendly with less clutter, a focused color palette, smaller line lengths, and more features. The website is also the portal to the Custom Blends campaign. It will house customer submissions of their smoothies. The Custom Blend smoothie with the most votes will be featured on the menu at Jamba Juice. This ties in social media to help revitalize the brand.
Research & Brand Strategy
The redesign of a well known brand like Jamba Juice requires much research to fully understand the needs of the company. Through my research, I identified the problems Jamba Juice is facing both as a brand and as a company. I researched the history of Jamba Juice, competitors, and demographics to provide the best solutions. Mood boards for inspiration were also created to set the direction of the project.
